This family portrait session was a really fun and special one. Not only is my son good friends with one of the boys, but this family has lived on the Coast Guard property of the Point Vicente Lighthouse in Rancho Palos Verdes for the past few years by virtue of dad being an officer in the Coast Guard. But alas, dad received a new assignment in Michigan (which will be closer to family) and they wanted some portraits to remember the time they spent at the lighthouse. We’ll miss seeing you around and wish you the best!

I simply love the spring season with the warmer weather and the wildflowers blooming. This was my first maternity session among the beautiful wildflowers in Palos Verdes and what a great location to anticipate the beginning of a new life. Deanna and Tim were great to work with and I’m sure that you can see that Deanna definitely has that maternity ‘glow’. We also had a fun time shooting at the Manhattan Beach Pier. I’m looking forward to meeting your new member of your family soon.

Well, she was back for her 1-year old photos, and I just love the cute little outfits and costumes that mom and dad brought. I especially love the beautiful traditional Korean dresses that they wore at the end!

I just love when my families come well dressed and all coordinated. We shot at one of my favorite portrait locations and the weather and lighting were just perfect. We had a lot of fun…and I got a lot of exercise chasing big brother up and down the trail. Little sis’ was a bit shy, but she warmed up just great.

This family was so fun to photograph! The kids (as well as mom and dad) loved hamming it up for the camera and there were lots of laughs and smiles during the session. Of course the kids loved going for some ice cream at the end!

These beautiful nine-day old twin girls join their ‘almost two-year old’ big brother. Their unique personalities were already showing through during the session: Maxwelle was quite the deep sleeper while Maxine was the perfect ‘curled’ baby. I’m especially glad we finally got the shots of them together at the end. Here are a few previews.

I love playing at the beach, especially with my kids, and combined with taking photos, it makes for a great time for me. As a photographer, there is nothing harder than taking photos of your own kids, but we had a blast when we went to one of our favorite places, the Manhattan Beach Pier.

This little girl just melted my heart…she was happy to smile during the entire session and was such a joy to photograph. I always feel so honored and blessed when families trust me to capture a slice of their lives. I photographed little ‘e’ as a 3-week old newborn and I came back to capture the rest of their beautiful family. Big bro ‘J’ just adored his new little brother and loved to hold and cuddle him. Mom warned that ‘J’ might be little camera shy, but I saw a confident, sensitive, and super fun kid.

Big ‘J’ loves to skateboard and I love creating images incorporating favorite hobbies or activities!

Big bro wanted to hold his little bro at every opportunity!

This guy was such an adorable little boy. Although he was already three weeks old (a little later than I recommend for newborns), he gave us some great sleeping and awake shots… and best of all… he gave us a great big heartwarming smile during the session!
