My name is Gilbert Yu and I am a photographer in the Los Angeles area. I love hiking, traveling, and photographing, especially in newfound and interesting locations. I love finding hidden little locations that no one would glance at and find beauty in those locations, either with a photograph of an interesting detail or a portrait of a person in that location. My passion is to create beautiful and interesting images. Whether it is portraits of your child and family, photographs of a beautiful wedding, landscape photography in the Sierras, or unique travel photography, I am obsessed with creating timeless art in every image that I create.

I had this wonderful portrait session with this family in one of my all-time favorite spots…the spring wildflowers! The little ones are always a challenge to photograph, but this little girl was well worth the effort. Big bro was great too and likes to take care of his little sis’. Thanks for a fun session!
I simply love the spring season with the warmer weather and the wildflowers blooming. This was my first maternity session among the beautiful wildflowers in Palos Verdes and what a great location to anticipate the beginning of a new life. Deanna and Tim were great to work with and I’m sure that you can see that Deanna definitely has that maternity ‘glow’. We also had a fun time shooting at the Manhattan Beach Pier. I’m looking forward to meeting your new member of your family soon.
If you’ve been following my blog, you might recognize this little cutie from her newborn and 6-month photos. Well, she was back for her 1-year old photos, and I just love the cute little outfits and costumes that mom and dad brought. I especially love the beautiful traditional Korean dresses that they wore at the end!

I just love when my families come well dressed and all coordinated. We shot at one of my favorite portrait locations and the weather and lighting were just perfect. We had a lot of fun…and I got a lot of exercise chasing big brother up and down the trail. Little sis’ was a bit shy, but she warmed up just great.

It is so wonderful to photograph my returning clients and seeing how they’ve grown. You may remember this family from a previous beach session and this time we had a fun session at the park. I just love seeing their family bonds and especially how big bro just adores his little bro.
